fairly new to rf but have been gaining lots of knowledge from you guys.i'm called jumpy,i have a 99 ford ranger xlt 4x4 off road 3.0 flex 5spd with the wonderful vacuum hubs and interior clutch slave cylinder(which i'm in the process of changing now which is an experience i don't wish on anyone)and i think you guys are great for sharing.does anyone know if mercron and dex/merc automatic tranny fluid are the same and is it ok to put dex/merc in my 5spd tranny as my repair manual calls for mercron atf?

Welcome to R-F! If your manual calls for regular mercon, that is the equivalent of the dex/merc.
