hi my name is pat and i love my truck. i do a lot of work all the time. so i tray to do the best thing for my truck that i can. i put air bags on the back a cold air in tack and now i just put on a E-fan but that is what I'm having the problem with i was told to us a ford Taurus 92-96 because it was the same size but that fan has 2 speed on it but when i huck up the hi it is shorting out and i need to know what I'm doing wrong

Most likely you have it wired wrong and you're shorting the fan out when you put it on high.
Basically, when it's in low the +12 volts goes through the resistor and then into the + input on the fan. When you it's on high, the +12 volts goes directly to the + input on the fan.
It sounds like when it's on high you're sending the +12 volts right to ground.
Another possibility occurs to me: where are you getting power from for the fan and how are you controlling it? With a relay or straight through a switch? What size fuse are you using?
