what exactly would you guys recommend? like i have no idea what direction to take cuz as i said im only 18 and this will be my first truck to mod. so i just need some suggestions on things like, body lift vs. suspension lift. or certain exhaust systems that u would recommend. anything is helpful. thanx!

Well, you've got a great start because you've got a 4 wheel drive. I wish mine was. Maybe I'll make enough this year to buy another Ranger, but 4x4 this time. It really depends on what you want or use your Ranger for. If you want to totally off road it, then I say upgrade your diffs, but if you want more of a pavement queen (nothing wrong with that in my book), then concentrate more on asthetically pleasing things like a lift or what not. What size engine, gear ratio, tires do you have?

yea well im most definitely doing off roading stuff. but i wanna upgrade the engine for more output. like an intake, exhaust, computer chip... u kno. right now my truck has a stock 4.0 SOHC V6 and LT235/75R15 tires. they're just the stock size but they're BFG all terrain tires so they're pretty good already. but u said i should upgrade the diff's first?

You should have the 8.8 in the rear so you'll be fine there. Engine upgrades I would do a intake, underdrive pulleys and a tuner to get the most bang for your buck. You can get all of that at stuffforyourranger.com/store. For exhaust Borla/Magnaflow have yielded the most power and they sound great. I've heard good things about JBA also. Then theres always Flowmaster for sound. For lifts you have a couple choices, 3" body lift or 2 body lifts, a 4" Superlift or a 5.5" RCD (Race Car Dynamics). You can fit a 33x10.5x15" stock but it will rub a good amount. I would run 32x11.5x15, thats what I have and it works and looks great. No one that I know of makes skid plates for Rangers, you can get stock ones from other Rangers at a junkyard tho. If you don't have tow hooks up front I would get a front receiver so you can install a recovery point or run a winch or something else and then a rear receiver for a recovery point in back. After all that you should be set-up pretty well for power, looks and offroad capability.

250 for the pulley: http://www.stuffforyourranger.com/st...3fbfeec2793189
Good call on the body lift, I don't offroad much thats why the 32s don't rub, if I do flex it out a lot they rub a little bit but I've never maxed it out. What size tire are you looking at running? 33s look great with a body lift.
