Icon2 new forum member got the bug for rangers

I am 65 and retired (3 yrs) locomotive engineer. Bought my 15 yr old grnd son an '85 ranger, (83K 2.0L to restore and customize. I luv old cars and trucks, and enoy working on them if I don't have to. The boy was iffy about the ranger at first but I think he's into it. We're sanding it down now. No rust, a few dings, pnt was a mess. I'll probably be full of Questions as well as crap. First forum I've ever joined and hope to meet many people here.Don't know too much about posting, typing or emailing, bear with me..My second project is an 88 f250. Its my buddy and needs work that it is slowly getting.

you can remove the smog system....i did it to my 87 fairly easily.

be sure to get a vacuum diagram first to be sure you don't remove any necessary lines.

the EGR can be blocked off also....

WELCOME to the forums....glad to see another 1st gen kickin around
