Another introduction folks. I've joined so my son and I have a place to read & talk rangers. He just got a pickup for Christmas. The pickup, "thewhiteranger" is an '04 single cab short bed in XL trim with a 2.3L/Auto combo turning a 4.10 gear. It has about 180k on the odometer and 100k on a freshly installed used motor. Most recently the truck was a fleet vehicle until the engine was overheated. I got it for a very reasonable price and found an engine to stick in it, and all of this occurred just in time for Christmas. My son is just about ready to drive and since my first ride was a 4x2 four banger ranger, it's only fitting that his is also. Mine was an '86, then I had an '84, then a '90 model, all 4 cylinder 2 wheel drives. I loved those trucks.

This one is in much better shape than any of mine ever were and we hope to work and tinker on it until everything on and in it works and appears as it should. We have a list of necessary repairs going already, which includes some wear parts and some of the seemingly common issues found on a 12 year old truck. We intend to do as much of the work as possible ourselves, and have started working on it already.

Here is a picture taken after removal of the utility cap and of most of the decals that were on it when I bought it.
