New Ranger owner! '02 Fx4

Hello all! My name is David and I'm 26. I recently purchased a Ford Ranger Fx4 and have been trolling your forums a lot lately because I've already had to replace the rear pinion seal! That was a BLAST... not.

Anyways, I still love the truck and can't wait to use the thing to its full potential. I'll be hauling a dirt bike, street bike and mountain bikes with it this summer and we occasionally get some decent snow in the winters here in Northern KY. I've got a feeling I'll be on here a lot this summer since my local Ford dealership doesn't know much about what I've asked them so far and their attitude isn't that great either.

This forum has been great so far! Can't wait to get involved.

David Jr.

Nice truck. Your front bumper is pulled out the same way mine is on the passenger side.

Welcome to R-F
It's always nice to see that I'm not the only one on here from Kentucky.

It's the first auto that I've ever owned! Always heard bad things about Fords autos so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Right now it shifts smooth as butter so I'm not worried.

What's up with the leaf spring hangers that I need to be worried about?

Powerranger, to be honest, I never even caught that it was pulled out! The seller did mention that there had been damage to the front but never noticed that. I even brought 2 people to look at it with me. What's weird though is there aren't any stress marks or bends on the bumper on the chrome anywhere that I can see, just a small dent behind the license plate holder. Guess I'll check the mounting points of the front bumper for bends...

the leaf spring hangers rot out, its best to inspect then now then to put a whole on you bed floor.

Haha, yeah I could do without a hole in my truck bed. I've got some rust underneath that I'd love to take care of eventually. I'll be trolling the forums for the Por15 (I think that's it) treatment later this year.
