Took me 3 week ends, but I was very anal with making things just right and I lost some time due to my radiator I ordered coming with a hole in it. Also remember, I did this 10 years ago, so I was also one of the first to do the swap, so I had to learn all the tricks the hard way.

"How much guessing"??? Do you mean cost? If you buy a donor explorer wreck, you have all the parts you need between your truck and that.

Ive read up on all the threads but was wondering from someone that has done it how long did it take for the 5.0 swap and how much guessing?

Hi, I saw a thread that you posted on regarding mounting positions on rangers/explorers, and taught that you might know the answer to my question. Im doing a 4.0 swap from a 99 Explorer (tortion bars) to my 2.5 Ranger (non tortion bar) but frame mount positions are different, do you happen to know what motor mounts I need?? or will I have to customize the engine mounting plates to aline?? Would appreciate the help.. Thanke
