Installed mine in the engine compartment. Easy to install. Most chain auto parts stores carry them.
Got em at Harbor Freight. They have others too.
Kit comes with everything, Compressor draws 30a or so. .
Ran a separate button inside, attached to the floor shift lever.
That's for quick access if one has to downshift quickly at the same time..
Coffee spill loud. Gets those suvs to snap back into their lane pronto, every time.
Hopefully has caused a dropped cellphone too.
Original compressor rusted out. Just bought another kit. Air horns= a must have.

One of these days I would like to install this kit just to use for fun. At least until I can come up with the money later for a proper setup(thinking Grover 1510s eventually) :D

Yeah I know hence it was never used and I got it for free. I've had it sitting around in a closet for ages and just recently found it lol. Being broke atm sucks no money for buying cool stuff like a proper air horn setup :D
I was thinking about maybe just hooking it up to play with for awhile since I have it. Mostly for honking at friends lol. Don't seem to have much room under my hood for mounting this thing anyways.

The stock horn on my 2010 was terrible so I replaced it with a Stebel Nautilus Compact air horn. It's got the compressor and horn all built in one small piece so I was able to install it in the stock location with a little home made piece to hold it and wired it in with a relay.
I really liked the horn so I trimmed the plastic on the drivers side, made another bracket and added a second one. Horns work great and are nice and loud.

I use Wolo Bad Boy airhorns on my bike and may put a set on my Ranger as well. They are self-contained with the compressor, two toned and rated at 139 db. You should not have to wire in a separate relay to install (I did on my bike) and should bolt in up front by the radiator. Louder than the stock horn and only about $50 from many parts stores. The Stebel Nautilis is the exact same horn but $20 more expensive.
Of course they aren't as loud as huge tractor trailer horns but a Ranger isn't a huge tractor trailer either and a big horn won't make it so. Somehow this thread reminds me of those who compensate for a lack of equipment by sportin a large belt buckle...
