Icon3 Another "What would you do?" ranger '05

Hey Everyone,

I have a ranger EDGE '05 and i need some ideas on what i should do next.. It's literally stock besides black headlights/ HID's in both fog & headlight (8k) and some window tint and removing the mud flaps.

Here are some pics i took today from my phone.

Side View

Back View

Front View

Sorta random but here is a corner picture of my headlights, i bought them through ebay and the description showed the "clear" black corners.. Instead i got the "euro" corners .. They really bother me and it's been about 4 months now, so finally some "non-euro" black corners are on the way.

If you guys could throw some ideas out there it would be awesome. Im thinking of going a 3" lift all around but i have no idea what type/size tires and rims i should go for. Im a newb when it comes to that stuff. Also i do know my front end is lower than my back end and i know it has to do with the torsion bar, unfortunately i have no idea on how to adjust them.

3" body, and it's like a workload package, to where when you put crap in the back it levels out due to the weight. you can get a leveling kit for that. 33's should fit fine on a 15" aftermarket rim with a 3" lift.

my factory rims are literally cracked from hitting a curb, its just a matter of time before they fall apart.

What other options for rims do i have?

i agree with cameron...

is it 2wd or 4wd?

4wd crank those bars to get your nose up... 2wd, shackle flip and level the rear end out with the front... nice rims, cobras or something... roll pan and maybe something different with those flares...

besides replacing that wheel and doing what others have suggested, 06+ corners and tails would look good. maybe a bed cover of some sort. i would look into getting those dents fixed as well, that will make it look better. other than that its a good lookin truck! love the color

Great ideas thanks :)

I'll look into replacing my tails with the '06... for the corners im just going to stick with the black corners i recently bought from ebay, also for the dents thats another thing on my list. My friends sitting in the bed of my truck and a quite a few camping trips (with wooden pallats in the back) have done some damage :(

roll pan

can't find the threads, but essentially, you make your rear spring hanger/shackle go from this...

to this

and from what I have heard, you don't need anything but some new bolts, wrenches and a jack or 2 and an air chizzel...

takes 10 grade 8 bolts and nuts, don't know what size

Sorry still really confused on what the actual "roll pan" does?

Thanks,
Andrew

it's a different bumper, it basically makes it to where the protrusion isn't there anymore.. look closely and you'll see the bumper is basically flat across.

^^ The roll pan is a body panel that goes under your tailgate to replace your rear bumper. Like the white truck in the first picture.
I cant believe they told you you had a month on that wheel! I wouldn't drive on that at all! As for mods fix that dent in your bedside lol. And i say lower it and keep the black theme going. NIghtshade tail lights or black/clear led taillights. Black wheels,,, you can see where I'm going! lol

That wheel looks bad. I'd change it out asap.

Nice truck.

just a bumper essentially, just a nice one...

you're pickin up what i'm puttin down, about the shackle flip though right? it should bring your back end down about 2 inches, but won't change the ride quality one bit

first and fore most....get off that rim like yesterday!!!

who every put a time limit on how long that rim would hold up, is an idiot and should never be trusted. no one can predict how long the integrity will last in a situation like yours.

that aside, are you willing to lift or lower your truck?

to lower it, i say go with the shackle flip ^^^ to level it out.(fabrication needed; $=?)

to lift it, i say 3in body lift($120-240), 2in chevy drop shackles($40 at pepboys for good ones) and torsion bar crank(free). rims and tires.... $=?

out of those options, i say lift it!!! my motto is dump the cars and lift the trucks. if you want to lower a vehicle, get a car. you can say "im biased" because i have a lifted truck but i think you'll be much happier with a lifted truck. the sky is the limit..... you can only go so low to you wont go any more. literally....
