I drive a little 2.1 liter 4 cylinder - how could I compete with a Big GM 445 horsepower V8 camaro! I'm sure that would such an easy win for you that you'd be willing to bet a few paycheck on a win there.

By the time I completed 3rd grade I knew how to use capital letters and punctuation. I can only imagine that your "Biochemistry Degree" came from the printer that sits on the desk in your moms basement.

13 MPG? Im not sure what V6 your thinking of, but I was out on the freeway yesterday cruise control locked at 70 and the Scangauge was reading 18.8 MPG average.

Have you ever seen a 4.3 S-10 drag race a 4.0 Ranger? Pretty sure I kicked that guys *** by a couple truck lengths.

My advise to you, stay off the internet, or at least don't be all hardcore with the keyboard.

All that and you still haven't learned how to spell words or form a coherent sentence to the point where at least I can understand it without having to read it 2 times... I know words that aint in the dictionary and I still cant understand wtf you're saying.... but anyway.

2.3 4 banger in a 3700 lbs truck is not a good combo, I know I bought one. I picked up about 2 mpg with a K&N air filter on my 07 XLT. Keep it lean, don't keep it full of extra weight from something you may need to use some day, I've heard that an increase of 100 lbs is a loss of one mpg in any car or truck.

Aluminum rims and light tires will help a lot. Acetone helps power and fuel mileage by better atomizing the fuel which helps with better flame propagation and a more complete burn. However the entire fuel system must be acetone safe. Acetone is not really that cheap so cost savings are minimal. A larger spark will also help with flame propagation since the area of the flame front grows exponentially. So simply put, a bigger spark will burn the fuel up quicker. This allows better for tuning for spark advance since premature ignition is better heard by knock sensors and audio devices. Besides cleaning dirty injectors, good aftermarket injectors with a wider spray patter will greatly increase power and gas mileage in SOME engines. The best increase in gas mileage that I have personally gotten has been due to me tuning the transmission to better match the shifting with the engines power band. Inflating your tires to 40psi or whatever you want is not going to save you any money in the long run when your tread becomes bald in the middle.

I drive my 4.0 SOHC normal and latley have been getting 21MPG. It's all stock except the Bassani exhaust and more air in the tires. The exhaust did nothing for mileage. A good tail wind helps too. I dump left over cans of seafoam and Briggs additives from work in the tank just to get rid of them so I can dispose of the bottles taking up space...they don't do anything for me, but make my hands smell bad and maybe eat my paint where I spilled it.

Incorrect. I had my tires inflated to 45 PSI when I bought the truck. I used them about 45K miles (bought truck with 40K, tires were not new when I bought it either, sold tires at 84xxxK). Then I sold them for $125 as they had enough tred left for winter use. Saved me fuel and I recouped some loss on tires...I got BFG's but wish I would have got Yoko Geos or Cooper ATR's for better mileage. Got brand new BFG's for $380 at a tire sale

MOST OF YALL HAVE 4.0 MOTORS MY SMALL 2.5 -120 H.P. MOTOR LETS ME REALLY FEEL ANY DIFERENCE to date ive
replaced : battery ,belt ,brakes ,shocks, u-joints, changed tranny fluid {ts manual 5 spd} plugs/wires/pcv valve throttle position sensor (twice auto zone sold me a cheap knock off) 4 radiator coolant changes and full synthetic oil changes for a 200,000 mile truck thats not bad it doesnt smoke period! ive found useing ceramic brakes wont chew up the rotors like semi metallic pads do, these 4 cylinders are KNOWN FOR ENGINE KNOCK UPON A LOAD ive owned 4 of these they all rattle on a steep hill so i add a additive and it eliminates it
Judging by all you've replace..it sounds like your 35mpg has cost you a ton!

I prefer my big tires. **** gas mileage i drive to impress
