drilling rotors.

ok this might sound stupid but its worth a shot, in stead of buying drilled/slotted rotors what if they were done to yours professionally, like how much would it affect your rotors if you go them professionaly drilled and slotted at a machine shop? strenght wise, and would it really work?

I have actually seen someone do it. I really wouldnt recommend it because most of them are molded like that, if you go drilling on yours, you will make the casting weak and they could possibly crack and break. To me, it really isnt worth ruining two perfectly good rotors just to have some holes in em!

I would slot them only which would take a CNC lathe. Don't slot them more than the allowable milling depth.

Thats my best guess on it anyway.

I thought about doing it because Power Slot didn't make one for my application. I have since found other companies that provide a slotted rotor besides Power Slot so it became a non issue to get it done.

oh ok, in the future tat is one of my things to do if i ever have enough money.

what i think i might do is find a bronco or epcploder that has some decent brakes on it and experiment with those and go from there.

i think when more than 1/4 of rust/metal falls of the inside of the rotors....thats my guess though

Yes they release heat better, the con is they collect mud in between the slots and wear your brakes out faster

relasing heat yes, and i heard that it dries the rotors somewhat quicker when wet cuz the water has somewhere to escape. its what i heard so dont take my word
