What other Ford rearview mirrors interchange with our trucks?
I'd like to try a SN95 convertible mustang, I since it has integraded reading lights that I think look pretty cool. Or atleast a nice addition. I'm curious to see what other ford mirrors will swap into our trucks? Does the stock rearview just pop up and off, and there is a metal bracket bonded to the glass?
Thanks

Yeah, theres a metal piece stuck to the glass. Your going to need a small flathead to get it undone I think (either that or it slides down, I forget), be REALLY careful with it or you could rip it off the windshield and take some glass with it like I did on the Explorer I got my rearview from.
My vote is just to do an Explorer autodimming mirror, and if you want to wire it up you can have auto headlights with it too. Do the Explorer OHC too, you'll like it a lot.

I guess I should search for the explorer ohc, im not so keen on cuttin the headliner up and stuff at the moment. Next time im at the junkyard ill have to finangle a mirror off one of the trucks there...so if i screw it up, who cares. Where does the flat head need to pry on? It looks like it needs to go between the glass and the mirror base itself, seems pretty dangerous for the glass!

Yeah, mess with one at the jy first. Cutting the headliner is no big deal at all, just start small and go bigger and take your time and youll be fine.
The mirror is attached by a little metal piece glued to the glass, that stays on the windsheild. You need a small little flathead from either the top or bottom (I forget) to pull a little clasp thing out of the way so you can pull the mirror up and then it will come off. Just go look at it tomorrow or now, you'll see what I'm talking about and it'll come right off.
