Power rear sliding window...?

SOOOO the other day i was driving on 276 (local highway). Well i passed a new chevy avalanche and the intire rear window was down ...it blew my mind and i liked the idea of it.

My question to all ranger owners is simple... Do you think this would be a dumb thing to waste my money on trying to be the first one with a rear power sliding window? Or would this be badass ?

or ya could get this
CRL POWR Slider FOR 1998+ Ford Ranger 4 Door (Quad) Cab

i wanna get it eventually. turning your arm in that awkward angle to open and close the rear slider is undesirable. lol

Deciding whether its worth it is totally up to you. You have to think of how much you will use it.

It would be nice to have, but I wouldn't use it enough to justify the cost

Theres a thread somewhere on here that says what year they stopped (its like 00 or 01, cant remember) and yeah I think they'd fit but It'd take some figuring I suppose. I'm not all too sure as I havent seen too many pics of rangers/Bseries trucks with them in it.

I do know that the 97 F150 my dad use to own had them in it but I think those Hinges might be a bit big for the small window of the ranger.

avalanche windows are just pop out, not motorized or anything, undo 2 clips at top and fold down and thats it.
the entire back wall actually comes out...

sport tracs have power rear windows though

i dunno about the new body style, but those uglier first gens had a window that popped out and a mid gate that folded down. the glass fit somewhere on or in the midgate to protect it.

that link, i'm not gonna drop $400 for something i can just reach back and do. yea it's a wierd angle, bah. it's for a split second.

Your best bet would be to take the rear window and surrounding sheet metal from an explorer sport trac and do a whole lot of body work.

someone mentioned using a sport trac before and the back wall's plastic is wider then ours to accomodate for the motor, linkage and room for the glass.
