rear disc brake help ????????

i've got an fx4 08 with a 8.8 31 spline but it came from factory whit drun brakes do someone make a conversion kit to put disc brake
help please a lot of detail please
new or junk yard ideas are welcome

pretty sure the how-to forum had a thread about adding rear disc brakes to a ranger. Hope that helps :)

You really do need to use the search function. A lot of your questions have been answered tons of times before and there is a LOT of good information to be found, just takes some time and some reading. Start with the how-to's.. the sticky's, etc.

To answer your question.. explorers... I wanna say 96 and up have disc brakes. They are 31 spline axles like yours... so it's not too hard to put them on your truck.

no one can put disk breaks onto a ranger espically an fx4 31spline.

god i'm so glad i searched and found that explorer disk breaks don't fit nor does a special currie and ford racing disk break setup bolt on. Oh j-k they all totally do. THANK GOD FOR SEARCH FUNCTION OF SITE!!!!!

We did this Gen2 Explorer disc swap onto a 31-spline 2004 Level II a few years ago. Major components bolt right on. Relatively minor hassles with the brake lines and p-brake cables. Info/pictures here:

2010 (built after 9/14/2009) AND NEWER have factory rear disc... I first saw it and said FINALLY.. then my second thought was..WTF end of the road for these trucks and NOW you put rear discs on?

I'm in the process of gathering parts for my swap. I already have drilled and spotted rotors, pads and caliper brackets.
