You have to remember that the Ranger cab has the stupid bump in the floor and I'm sure the Dakota cab is bigger. Good luck though.

dakota is bigger on the inside.....good luck with the attempt. Just gotta remember....there's some reason ford didn't put a bench in the back like any other xcab truck..

What do tacoma's have in the back? the 04 and earlier models?? they are slightly smaller inside than a ranger.

If I remember correctly from when I was looking at a Taco before the ranger they had jump seats that face forward kind of like the Colorado has in the Ext. cab version

My friend had one. You sit straight up and only half your *** fits on the seat. Also they where only available extended cab 2 door at the time. 05 was the first year they came extended cab 4 door.

Not enough room in a ranger.... you really plan on putting people in the back of your truck!?

If they want a ride bad enough they'll sit back there. Kind of like a hungry kid. If he is hungry enough he'll eat whatever is put forth.

right but re-arranging the truck means it's not just "kid wants a ride" it's "kid want's to GIVE people rides"

I've had 3 drunk people in the back of my truck but when it's 17 degrees outside they are BEGGING to sit back there... a little different

Honestly, look at the depth of that seat. Its looks about the same as the jump seats in our trucks. I would think that unless its a child sitting back there, your legs would not fit between the dodge seat and the ranger's front seats.

Someone could fit in the middle good though. I know When I was littler I used to sit facing towards the front in my truck.

How could you even drive with someone sitting behind you in such a small cab? I can't, so I took the drivers side jumpseat out of my truck.

You have a brand new Ranger, don't screw with it. Should have gotten a Dakota if you wanted a bench.

I sat in mine today, Im 6ft and I could fit, barely, but my seats where also 2 notches back farther than they could be. I think its a cool idea if you can make it fit.l

Last I heard it worked out great. All you have to do is bolt it in and it fits fine. That's how I did mine and it worked great.

Rangerboy I would LOVE to see a pic if you ever get a chance....did you mod the seat? Do you use seatbelts on it? Is there anything to look for in the Dakota seat? Did it work over the hump in the back or did it need some modification? Enough room for kids?

It is crazy that there isn't more info on the web on this subject....luckily this forum is top notch.

thanks a lot!
