So I've had this truck for a little over a year now, but I'm ready to do something with it. Its a 2001 Xl if I'm correct and it's a 4.0 v6 with a 7 foot bed. I recently got it repainted but now I'd like to lift it. I was thinking to do a 3 inch suspension lift bc its more in my price range compared to anything bigger, but I don't know a whole lot about any of this stuff. I'm very new and I'd like to learn more. I want to know exactly what goes into lifting it and if there's other things about the truck ill have to modify. I plan on getting new rims and bigger tires after lifting it to give it some extra height, but I'm afraid I wont be satisfied if it doesn't sit as high as I wanted. Does anyone have pictures of a 3 inch suspension lift on this style ranger they could share? Anyone willing to help me figure out exactly what I should do with my truck? I've even considered the 3 inch suspension lift with a 3 inch body lift but I'm not sure if that would look nice. I just need lots of help if anyone is willing to do so

There are a lot of small things you can do to give that "look". and there are a lot of big things that will make an even bigger impact. There are 3 things that predict what all you can do:Money, Experience, and or Time(There is more but it really falls to these 3 things)

So what you want to start with?

Wanna start small or big?

Just give me some things that you want to improve/change/add/get rid of

and give me some more pics i want to see it and it woudle be a great idea to take pics as you go along

Other options
new taillights and headlights or black them out
dual stacks in the bed
hood stacks(might be illigal)

 

Bag it, get some nice 20" wheels, add 06+ exterior mods, drop in a 5.0, and shine it up.

 

tottally agree with the 5.0, if i did mine it be out of a 1999-2001 ford explorer 5.0 Awd and id also swap the awd since mine is an edge and it bolt right up

 

Yeah, there's not much to the swap with and Edge or any other model with T-bars. Trust me, I know.

I appreciate all the feedback ive already gotten from everybody. I love the way the 3 inch lift looks with that truck. Do you know anything about those wheels in that pic bc they look really nice. Anyways I think I'll just give you a list of things I'm really wanting to do to my truck. So ive already gotten it painted which I got done for a steal of just $300. And just today actually I got my windows tinted (ill upload a pic). I'm definitely gonna go with the 3 inch suspension lift but that's going to take some saving, along with getting bigger wheels. I also want to get fender flares with the bolt on look. I plan on getting a bull bar for my truck pretty soon bc they don't cost too much to buy. Id like to add some lights to the bull bar at some point as well. Eventually Id like to get some new headlights that are tinted pretty dark to match the black and white theme of my truck but id like for them to have halos. As I said before, I got my windows tinted today and I was speaking with the manager and he said he could wrap the bottom of my truck in black all the way around. It feels like a pretty big list of things to do but at some point id love to complete it

Here is my truck with my exhaust and here are some pics of it with 35s on it with stock suspension. I just bought the wheels for 80 and sold the tires for 200.
