02 edge Power Window and Lock add on

hey guys! ive driven my truck since i bought it in highschool! love the damn thing! BULLETPROOF! its a 3.0L edge. its not riding stock height as i took the lift off for gas mileage.
so now onto the goods, i Installed power locks onto it a while back when i installed the crimestoper alarm and remote start. I will get pics of that all after i finish the power windows.
Ive searched and searched and searched EVERYWHERE for decent price parts to do a OEM swap. hit the junk yard etc. BUT to no avail. Then i read about universal power window kits, cheap yes, quality questionable. Many people have issues with heavy large windows but hey a ford ranger window is nothing! So i ordered this kit from amazon:
Amazon Amazon

got it in one day as i live in california. upon opening the drivers where nice. looked decent for the price. not to sure about the plastic gears to fit on the OEM roll up mechanism but hey i will find out!
the switches are just fine, they come in massive housing! BUT the switches will fit onto the door without the housing :0 simple as cut a little bondo sand clean and paint and bam flush switches!
so here are a few pics of what i have done so far with my little time:
to get the two switches out of the main holder you ahev to de-solder three wires. easy. just make sure you label them

whats left on the secondary switch wire wise. note that you have to keep it this way untill the switches are in place on the plastic trim piece by the handle!

one part of the main switch has this here plastic piece for easy attatchment to the main power/ground wires etc. take out the pins so you can pull the wires from the bulky housing and make a drawing or label the placing

Now you have this :

the three switches ready to go.

today was the day guys! kit is installed and works FLAWLESSLY! BEST 60 dollars i have spent EVER!
here we go:
To make the install go smoothly make sure you have lots of time to do it! pre-plan and plan some more! nothing wrong with planning! get an idea of how the setup is going to work.
Running the wires throught he grommet is quite easy if you push the grommet into the door on both sides as far as possible. shove the wires in and grab ewith your fingers and slowly work them down. be patient! have a beer or two!
once the wires are in now its time to set up the gear on the roll up window.
In the kit a crap load of gears comes in it. choose the 11a for this kit. OR in another type of kit find which one fits. only one will lol. NOTE you will have to make a shim. 1/2" hole drilled out to slide over the peg with the gear. this is to keep the gear that connects to the cable drive! MUST BE DONE!
the shim will vary in size depending on what size gear you use. i used the smallest. here are pics of it all done up
NOTE: in the pic is the gear i opted to not use and switch out the 3/8" shim for a 3/4" shim

now onto more self explanatory pics lol
