Roach2004's Coil-Over Drop Project Log!

First off I wanna say thanks to D. cause if he didn't do this I would have NO idea how to lower it.

I was going to make this Project Log to keep track of my progress. I am going from a 3" spindle lift with 35's to a custom drop with 17's. I am not planning on starting this swap for at least 2 months but I am starting to collect the parts now. Here are the rims, coils and coil-over shocks I am getting. I have not decided what tires. Probably the one's he has on his Z-28 because he is putting drag radials on his car.

Wow, from one end of the spectrum to the other. Should look sick though and make more sense since it's 2wd and all

Yea I keep thinking more and more that it will look BADA$$ dropped. I am looking at a shade under $1,000 for the rims and suspension parts. Then I just need 2 tires so all in all I am looking at around $1,300 to get it where I want it. Better than spending the $800 on JUST tires for some 35's in a couple months. Considering I have NEVER offroaded since I got these tires and they are almost worn out.

The only thing I need to figure out is how to mount the coil-over's. I wanna get the ones Shadow is making but I dont know whats going on with that. I might just make some of my own.

This is around how low my cross member will be off the ground (This is a picture of D.'s truck)

Plus I NEVER use them for offroading. The last time I offroaded for real was in 2007 if not 2006. Plus the suspension parts I constantly have to replace because of the heavy *** rim/tire combo. I think all around its in my best interest in going back to school and stuff to do this.

this is just my two cents....17"s you might be dissapointed with. they're gonna look so tiny. Def gonna be naaassssty but IMO 18"s is the minumum size rim for rangers.. the wheel wheels are just to big.
