1988 Ranger Economy Build
Here's the beginning of the end of my wallet...
If i didn't spend enough money on one ranger...now i have two, but i really mean it when i say i am spending as little as possible on this truck
1988 Ranger, 2.3, auto, reg cab, shortbed, 2wd, black, red interior, purchased for $600 undriveable, the trans fluid would pour out as fast as it you pour it in.
4/15/10 Purchased vehicle and brought home on a tow dolly
4/19/10 Removed transmission for repair
4/20/10 Replaced vacuum modulator, tail-shaft seal, tail-shaft gasket, both side servo covers, pump seal, bell-housing seal, bell-housing bolt o-rings, trans pan, pan gasket, filter, torque converter and converter seal.
So far i have acquired all the parts (brand new) i have replaced and spent $49.20 total
Plans at this point are to repair what needs to be repaired, do some preventative maintenance, lower it and drive it. If money allows, id like to fix the rust that the truck has and do some body work
Tomorrow i will be replacing the oil pan gasket, oil pressure sending unit and hopefully installing the trans

haha im sure this old tired 2.3 would be sooo fond of putting boost to it. i know nothing about turbo set ups so you would have to arrive in the box with the parts
ok so,
4/22/10 Install oil pan gasket, clean oil pump pick-up (clogged with gasket), install transmission, install dream beams
Thank you very much to grant for working on it with me for 17 non stop hours, thank you very much to zach for helping and for supplying a new radius arm bolt and passenger side radius arm bushing. and THANK YOU TO TYLER (0rangeredge2) for supplying the BRAND NEW dream beams!
now i will wait until the parts get here to flip the shackles in the rear...on with pics!

After work today, grant, zach and I lowered the rear by flipping the shackles and pulling a leaf, and installed 4 new shocks on it. I opened the radiator cap for the first time to find a slime of stop leak and a half full radiator so we will see where that leads
only pic i have for now....and removed the cap
