i did but it never ran, the people before had so many things pulled off it and i didnt want to spend any money on it to see if it would start.

no difference assuming he's still running the navigator 4v heads (lightning is sohc)

 

psh why not just run the lighting engine?!?!? you know you would like a supercharged 5.4 better than a regular one! lol

 

or better yet, keep the navigator setup and supercharge that, dohc ftw

Looks like the valves hit the pistons too... Something might've gone awry with the heads too. Either way, I thought he was just getting the lightning block and crank? Or did I read that wrong?

the block is cracked, but a 5.4 block is a 5.4 block, I already purchased a 5.4 block off ebay and a steel crank from a lightning vs the stock cast crank in the navigator.

I am keeping the 4V heads or fixing them if something is wrong. 4v motors

 

They seem dirt cheap around here as well. I got my 5.4 for free, and it was running and driving when it was pulled (intermittent high temps, think it's the infamous coolant crossover tube)

Now I just need another crank for my 4.6, gave original one away for a friend to get his truck back on the road.

yeah it doesnt take much to find a cheap 2v 5.4 and when the blocks are the same as the 4v.

As for the engine haha I doubt that. This 5.4 will put out more than enough power.

Sheesh I didn't realize the 5.4 4v motors made so much power. I was looking at new F150s with the 3v 5.4 and I was thinking they were like 315 hp and 365 lb-ft. Fine then.

If 400 hp is good, then 500 hp is better!!!

 

I think they're building this motor a little bit, its not going to be totally stock.

 

do you want to buy me some new axles for my Dana60s? if not 400 is better than 500. haha

nothing right now. i have some bills to take care of. specifically a ticket i received on the way down there and some other junk that has popped up.

I think Nick is tearing down the engine the rest of the way and getting it ready for the machine shop in a week or two. Then I will order pistons, rods, bearings etc...
