Half doors

So I just bought a set of doors off of a 94. I am going to build a set of half doors to use in the summer. I wanted to run no doors but think half doors would be better. So here are the doors. I am undecided on weather or not I want to run the door handles or what yet but when I get home from school on I am going start the build and figure out what I want to do.

They have been primed in a few spots but thats ok too cause they will be painted. I am thinking of painting them the stock red but not sure yet.

Nice, build me a set too lol. Down here in Florida I could drive with them almost year round as long as there isn't any rain.

I am trying to figure out how I want to cut them. I am going to cut small amounts and see if I like it. If not I'll cut more. I am thinking something like this.

And for the rain. I am thinking vinyl interior so that won't be too much of a problem.

I am going to cut off the top. That was just a pic I found that was half way decent.

I don't need them. LOL I want them.

And I am thinking of going about 2-4" above the seat. That will give you some reference on where the cut will be made.

So you won't actually be opening the doors to get in the truck? Eh if I had doors like that it'd be a btch to get in or out of the truck, esp without step bars, my truck sets tooo high with just a T-bar crank and AAL's+shackles

i would leave the top, it would look cleaner instead of having all the weird angles and edges exposed.

and if you don't leave a handle of some sort how are you gonna get them off? I would make it in a way so that you can still use alteast the outside handle, but idk how much of the door you would have to leave.

I am leaving a handle on the inside. Just not on the outside. I will relocate the inside handle so that it is lower in the door. So to get in you'd just reach in and open it with that handle.

Does anyone know exactly what part of the lock/handle/latch they changed on the doors in 98? Or have a part number?

Thanks

i still think you should leave the upper junk, it would look so much cleaner.

I was thinking that but idk. I don't really like that look. If it was going to be the upper I would just run full doors. I want easy doors that are shorter, lighter and cooler looking.

Thanks Stone. I saw both of those. I like the bronco except the top part. And I like the yota but I don't want an outside handle. So I might shave that. Not sure yet.

I could. I was thinking cutting the body line out but if I do it like that yota you posted that would keep the handle and cut it down farther. But then I would have to take the lock out and weld that up. I guess I could do that.
