Bad week for me, some one broke into my focus at home and stole the light bar off my ranger. No damage from the looks of it but annoying hell

Dang that sucks. A couple years back someone smashed in my passenger side window and stole my sub. I hate thieves

Atleast all they took was the cheap light bar. I have lots of security bolts on the way now....

That sucks man. I've thought about getting a light bar or something but I'm afraid all deez mah fukkas would steal it. Let us know what you get for security bolts and how they work out for you.

Just wire it so the metal is electrically charged, that should keep them from stealing it.

Already installed new hardware on whats left, don't think I will replace the bar, to be honest it was the light I liked least and it was the most useless. I will most likely replace my KCs with some high power LED spots, light cannons or dually XLs most likely.

What wattage KCs do you have? I have 2 KCs on the front of my truck and have been contemplating better lights, maybe HID. But I have 150 watt KC lights so I know replacing them with something that puts out better lighting is going to cost a good amount of $$$

100w long range kcs. Been doing lots of research and I am leaning toward 2 sets of dually d2s one driving pattern and one hyper spot. This will give me the distance of the kcs with more spread way out. And is $500 ish. I have thought about the hid covers ion but the warm up time would be killer, I want light right away and don't want to tax the system turning them on and off.

I can't find any info on the lumen output of KC daylighters. One random thread said 30 lumens per watt but there was no data or reference to back it up. I wonder if the LEDs will actually be brighter than the 100 or 150 W halogens. They will draw WAY less power though.
Update: E-mailed KC and received a very quick response. Not sure about the 100 watt halogen, but the 150 watt is rated at 385,000 lumens while the LED is only rated at 215,000 lumens. KC said "LED drop in will not go out as far as the 150 watt sealed beam Daylighter and will not be as bright." I guess upgrading my alternator is a better alternative to changing the lights to LED. Hopefully this helps shed light on your decision mike.

Don't get me wrong it works fine, especially for the money. But the quality and durability is not there. I have a few name brand lights kcs and rigid. And several Chinese lights and I can always count on the good stuff. My old 20 bar if I ran it for long periods would smell like burning solder lol

I had no idea they had these thanks for the tip. Its about $230 to upgrade 2 lights to HID.

Wiki says Candlepower is equal to 0.981 candela. So 385,000 candlepower is 377,685 candela which is still substantially greater than 215,000 candela
