It isn't that hard to turn a little car's wheels with no power steering. Takes some muscle, but not as much as the dude that popped in with his 2.3 liter and 30" tires.

Don't worry about your little VW being hard to turn... it won't be. Once you're rolling, it's barely any harder than a power steering equipped car. If anything, you'll get a little bit stronger.

However, be very worried about turning the wheel on a school bus or a deuce and a half... that's hard work there. Kickbacks while holding the wheel in those can result in broken arms.

This. I had one go while I was driving bus in the middle of a turn.
Parralel parking will suck.

I think im gonna leave the power steering. It wont make a big difference at all.

Just ordered new control arms, and Brembo slotted and drilled brake rotors. I know, they arent necessary, but I couldnt pass up on the deal.

So, when the control arms arrive...it will be time to go to work.

So, you need to get a few of your buddies, dress up in clown gear and drive around.
then all of you pile out at the grocery store or something.

Hahaha. I agree. Two in the front, three/four in the back then 3 in the hatch area.

Well crap. I had to limp the v-dub down the street to get a tire patch today.

I stupidly left my tire patch kit in my truck. A couple of guys working a cabinet shop helped me out.

I knew that the Golf needed new front tires when I bought it, but I didnt see the one little spot.

The hole could've waited a couple of days....no?

I only had time to replace the doors handles last week.

Stuff came in earlier this week.

Seller threw in 4 Yellow Stuff brake pads (barely used), and stuffed it all in one box lol (it had some weight to it)

Maybe some pictures later.

So, to install I have:
All 4 Brembo brake rotors
Brake pads
New control arms with poly-something bushings and b-joints
Short shifter
USRT shift linkage upgrade
Multiple gauges (oil pressure, voltage, stuff like that)

And some interior parts.

Just got off the phone with the gentleman who sold me the stuff above ^

He is going to sell me an entire rear disc brake conversion for $100!! Excited I am (in Yoda's voice)

Pads, calipers, stub axles, brackets. I think he is including the lines. I already have the rotors.

I've been looking at some deals on springs.

I don't want to go crazy low, but lower than where I am now.

Purchased 2 tires for the Golf today. Other 2 tires look fine.

Found 2 rust holes below the rear bumper. Will have to cut it out and patch it up.

Kind of have the itch to get a 90 or so 2 door and do a 1.8T swap in it with better brakes, suspension, exhaust, tune, better seats etc...
