Be Cautious of this scammer

i copied this post from member douyouquaxu on ford ranger forum

just thought i should bring this to attention over here

"I'm a moderator on dezertrangers where this was first brought to my attention. There was a user selling some 3.0x16 King shocks for $1000 that normally sell for closer to $2000 used. I sent him my number to work out a way to pick them up (he supposedly lived close to where I work). I come to find out thanks to some detective work from other members that he stole the pics of the shocks from someone else' ad, and has accounts on many other forums scamming people's hard earned money.

Once his IP address got banned, I got 1500 threatening text messages from this guy, who's full name is RYAN SHEPARD. He had my full name, address, DOB, driver's license number, and threatened to destroy what little credit I have as well as send "surprise" packages to my house. My local police wouldn't do anything about it, not even take down my information and the reason I came in.

Now, another member I personally know got scammed out of $1000, as well as other people on different forums that are included in the 3 threads linked below. This POS needs to be caught, and everyone in the mean time needs to be aware of who he is.

Check out the links below, and be careful. He has multiple accounts on different forums scamming multiple different people. If a deal seems too good to be true, IT PROBABLY IS!

I honestly have no sympathy for people who buy stuff from a brand new user that seems too good to be true. I have bought plenty of things off of forums and have never been scammed because I bought from the right people. If your smart about your purchases then you won't get scammed.

It sucks for the people who got ripped off and got the text message threats but at the same time if they were smarter it wouldn't have happened.

Getting Scammed is a horrible crime. I wouldn't buy anything on a forum over $100. I would buy something over $100 if i was meeting locally. If he sends threats from text messages cant you track down were there address is and such? Like said above buy from a trusted member. I would purcase any item from the above members besides Miller (just cause your new here) and the OP.

I agree, you never should send money to someone blindly.

Why don't you run his ISP addy (assuming he's not using a proxy or a public 'puter) through WHOIS and see what comes up? And if you have his email, maybe arrange to send him a little *surprise* or have someone in the know do it. Make sure the little *surprise* is of the kind that either formats a hard drive or wipes out some hardware (the bestus option). Shut his theft operation down and make him pay money for 'puter repairs, thereby catching his full attention. And a word to the wise, send that *surprise* through a proxy.
