parts.com? good or bad??

hey, just curious to what you guys have to say about parts.com.. i did a quick search and noticed one member recommended them, i figured i would just ask and see if anyone else has had good things to say about them...

i was scouring the net in search of #1 torsion bars and prekeys .. when i came across parts.com... they can get me the bars and keys for nearly half the price the local ford dealership quoted... should i go for it?

thanks!

Haven't head of them, but get it shipped USPS if you can, they waive all of the brokerage fees that UPS charges.

Thats why I said it. I'm in BC, and I got buttraped by UPS. They wanted to charge me like $67 for brokerage fees for a steel wheel. The wheel itself only cost me 55 or something like that. I refused the shipment, and got the company to send it USPS. No charges what so ever.

those aren't the exact bars, by the way. i know i had to send a message to the parts dept at tascaparts.com and they had to change my order. the price difference was about $5. and they're VERY persistent about the using a VIN number when you order. and just explain what you're trying to do because they're going to tell you that it doesn't matcch.

try Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

got parts from them when i wrecked my grand prix. for way cheaper then anywhere else. they just have a list of all the wrecking yards in your area. they almost always have the part youre looking for.

The brokerage fee is through UPS, not the seller.

Try asking them. It can't hurt.

Also do not get it shipped up to your house. You will get nailed BIG for the border fees.
How close are you to the border? Try to get it shipped to a broker on the US boarder. Then bring it across yourself.

F67Z-5B326-FA Pass side
F67Z-5B326-FB Driver side

these are what i used when i sent them a message.

i'm not too sure about the UPS thing. Like Jeff said, wouldn't hurt to ask. They seemed pretty nice... clueless about spring rates, but nice.

if you don't want to spend all the money for new keys, i could see if i can pull some from a local junk yard and ship them your way.

Let me talk to one of the guys in a local ranger club. He's got a set of 99 Ranger keys and I'll see if he wants to part with them. Pretty sure he will since they've been laying around for several years. If not, we've got a jy around here that has plenty of Rangers.
