Some paint work on my 98
I don't post too much, but I'm too giddy about the paint work being done to my truck to not post! Sorry about the crappy pictures...I forgot my camera and took them with my phone. I bought the truck last year. It had racing stripes. I hated these racing stripes. Here's how it looked.
I picked up a red tonneau cover. So essentially, my truck was red, white and blue with stripes. Coworkers started calling it "Captain America". Luckily, Patrick's (01_ranger_4x4) dad is an expert body guy and agreed to make the truck all one color. I picked up a Powerdome hood off craigslist for 70 bucks! I sanded the stripes off the tailgate and roof with the help of 320 grit on a DA. I decided at the last minute to color match the grille as well, so we ordered up a paintable grille. Here's where the truck stands as of yesterday. It'll be getting final paint/clear today and I should have it back Monday!
And I also picked up some 06 emblems!
I can't wait to get it back! Hope you guys like it!

The grille was a last minute decision...but the chrome one wasn't doin it for me anymore. I like the monochromatic look. The chrome one will be up for sale later today.

Even in crappy cell phone pics, you can still tell how much of a pro your dad is...they look great!
For the first time ever, I'm actually looking forward to a Monday. I'll give your dad a ring early in the day and if he thinks it'll be ready, Gregg said he could give me a ride over to pick it up. That means you'll get to drool over the Mustang again if he drives it.

I don't mind stripes if they're done well...but these were not. It looked like someone applied them with a roller and left a huge edge. 320 on a DA took care of them quickly though! Also, the color was too contrasting for my taste. No more of that!
