How did she tow? Whats the weight of your boat? I am going to be towing my 17' Larson bowrider this summer and I want to know how it will work.

(I have a 3/4 ton but I don't want to lug it out every weekend to put it in the water)

looks good im looking to pick up a 18-19 foot bow rider soon

so im curious how did the 3.0 tow? my main concern is braking even though our trucks are rated at like 5,200 LBS i think a 3k lbs boat would be fine...

P.S i have the 4.0

You'll be fine, boats tow generally well and bow riders are even better since there so low. I have never towed mine with my Ranger but I have towed it with a 4.0 and it towed decently well. I could feel it behind me but that won't go away unless I towed it with my 2500.

As far as braking you should be fine, just remember you have a trailer behind you. Everyone always says get trailer brakes, and blah blah but it's not needed. Unless you plan on doing some hardcore braking you'll be fine. And not to mention 95% of single axle boat trailers don't come with trailer brakes it'll be a pricey upgrade. Most tandem axle trailers have brakes because well, most boats requiring a tandem axle trailer weigh alot. All though some "high end" boats get matched with either tandem axle and single axle trailers with brakes it is usually because since your buying a really expensive boat, your expecting the best trailer you can buy.

And you shouldn't have a problem with launching and retrieving your boat since you have 4x4. (It's a must for steep and or gravel boat launches)

Might be a bit hevey for a long tow, But I pull around our 17' Lund Aluminum Tournament boat like nothing.

Thanks guys. The boat weighs around 2700ish with everything and a full tank of gas. The 3.0 has more than enough power to pull, but the only thing that i wish was better is the braking. It's not ridiculously bad, but it could be better. Gotta change my pads anyways and am planning on getting power slots. I never spin on the ramp even if im on the algae. The thing i find weird is before i had my truck, a f250 (crewcab longbed 4x4 diesel, with a camper shell and procomp 35 all terrains) would spin all the time. the biggest i've towed (town?) was a friend's 19ft water logged bass boat with no problem, probably a good 3500 lbs.
