Good Job. That came out nice. Hope you polyurethaned the box first. You could probably get lifts for the box so you don't have to use the piece of wood.

What did that end up running ya?

Looks awesome for DIY. Hope no water gets behind the diamond plate though.

yea thats acutally not too shabby...IMO whenever you get a free day. take of the diamondplate and use a resin or vanrish to water seal the wood.

Surprisingly that turned out better than I thought it would, when I first saw it was wooden I was like wow this is gonna be redneck lol, then I saw the diamond plate and I thought you'd still be able to tell it was wood really easy. But after I saw the finished pictures I must say it looks good, you can't even tell it's wood until you open it.

We didn't see on the picture but before I put the box in the truck I stripped rubber to put under the diamond plate on the three other face of the box so water can't not see the wood. And the the floor did not touch the bed.My Father got the same toolbox(homemade) and he have it since 5 or 6 year and his is in top shape.

Not bad man. Came out pretty nice. 200 bucks for the diamond plate huh? Seems pretty steep. I woulda taken that 200 bucks and bought an actual box. But like I said, you did a good job too

That looks great. Impressive.
Only thing I would have done different is made it so it sat below the bed line.

Yeah, box came out really well from start to finish. Later on I'd put a little gas shock so you don't need the piece of wood then it'll look just like an actual box.

By the way how much did the diamond plate cost you?

I REALLY like your tool box. If I had that for my Dodge, I would have the ULTIMATE in tool storage.
