NEW.. Temporary Look

Well I got tired of now having a tialgate and having to bungee cord everything such as me and my buddies golf clubs, or anything else.. so I picked up this tailgate off a 2005 from a JY... they wanted $100 for it, but then I went and looked at it, and the plastic handle was broken on one side, so the gate wouldn't open. So I got them down to $40, and replaced the handle with my METAL handle, which is much more durable. I

I don't mind the look, I also painted the back of the bed between the bumper and gate BLACK, so the white didn't look stupid.

It's hard to tell in these pics.. but the gate and the bumper are pretty close in "shine factor" the bumper is powdered semi gloss.. I'm not too worried about the small difference.. it's tempory until I get my new steal gate built in July

Not getting it painted.. I am getting a custom tailgate made from steel, but not until July when my buddy has more free time.

This is just a temp fix for the NO tailgate I had before, cuz I go sick of bungee cordin' everything in the bed so it wouldn't slide out. I chose black becase it went more with the rear theme.. and my steal tailgate will be powder coated black so..

That doesn't look too bad at all! The colour kind of flows with the flares/grill/valence.

im rolling around tailgate-less too and its a pain.. i finally got a truck bed toolbox and its has a ratchet strap going from one corner to the other right now holding it in... its coming out tomorrow cuz its scratching the hell outta the top of my bed rails and until i figure out how i want to mount it..

ya i agree having to strap EVERYTHING down is a real PITA!!! my tailgate is going back on this weekend though.
