i have been trying to find out if i have a hookup for a computer to see whats wrong with my fricken truck. if i do, where is it at. its a 87 2.3 fuel injection. thanks

 

87's don't have such connections. Not familiar enough to know if there is any kind of diagnostic port, but if there is, it will just flash the check engine light with a code, or you hook up a meter to port and count the needle swings. Usually there is a jumper you have to put in as well. 87's don't have OBD-II so generally there's no direct hookup to the computer or network.

You might want to look over at http://www.therangerstation.com as they generally have pretty good coverage of older Rangers.
