dana 30 4 link and king coilovers

think im gunna start a new project. i have a 98 ranger with a 3.0 in it. i have a 3 inch body lift and a 2.5 tbar crank on my toy and i have no lift on my daily driver. this whole idea started by the fact that no one on here seems to be building a crawler out of the 3.0's. i want to put a 4 or a 3 link with 12inch king coilovers on my dana 30 instead of coils and buckets and an independent shock. i know thta people are going to say dont put the 30 on switch to a 44. only thing is, is that i already have a 30 out of my dads old parts jeep.
Anyone know where to start? maybe i can build up the shock towers and put a crossmember in the engine compartment to brace them. all the multilinks will be built up in the shop at my school with .25 steel in a box structure and arc welded into shape.
any ideas will help alot, thanks in advance

theres tons of info to be found in the sas build threads. before you go hacking your truck up do some more reading.

and yes you need to have an engine hoop to tie the shock hoops together.

im not too sure what your plan is for the links. square tube with a wall thickness of .250? that would be fine. .250 plate welded together in the shape of a box? sketchy at best!!! your best bet would be to buy some round or square tube and then weld in some threaded inserts like these from ballistic. 7 / 8 - 14tpi Tube Adapters OR since its a jeep dana 30 just buy some radius arms made for it and just go from there.

imo, if you dont know where to start then you shouldnt even attempt it. buy the big stuff (axle, tires & wheels, coilovers, steering box, etc.) and let a pro do the actual work.
