Rides like a rock!

My Truck rides like a sherman tank. Its so stiff a jars the **** out of me on every bump. Would shocks make it ride nicer? Its an 2001 Torsion bars turned not cranked and 31s. any suggestions?

You bought a truck. And it rides like a truck. Deal with it. lol.

Ya...shocks would help. I loved the way Bilstein HD's made my truck ride.

Also, are you running the suggestion air pressure in your tires? If you are, i'd invest in some 32's....get more cushion(sidewall), and it'll add to the look of the truck.

Unbolt your swaybar, makes the ride wayy smoother, just don't drive it like a vette

Then he is going to complain about body roll.

Your shocks might be wearing out, causing it to rebound more.

Yea dont like the sway bar idea. Its my daily driver and I take it on long trips and its just so ruff and tiring to drive. So shocks anyone?

It's all in the valving, the piston, the assembly, and the fluid.

http://www.bilstein.com/tech.php

$250 shipped for the Bilstein Heavy Duty's off ebay...

I replaced just my front shocks with Bilstein HD's when my truck only had about 65k on the clock...made a world a difference.

I keep my 31x11.5 at about 25 psi...anymore than that and the ride goes to $hit, They are suppossed to be at 40.

I would lower the preasure and see if it rides better.

25 psi? i wouldnt suggest doing that. if you want it to ride like a car...buy a car. running too low of a PSI on the road daily is a BAD idea. it will cause premature tire wear, crap mileage, and horrible cornering among other things.

They're fine...Been that way since the second week and they are going on 20k with minimal sings of wear, for a bias ply mud tire. I run highway every morning and every afternoon..the truck handles great, for a truck., I dont want my truck to ride like a car, but at the 40 they run teriible even at 32 they're rough and they would get a crown.

Bilsteins all the way bud. If you're still running your 2001 stockers, you'll need to upgrade to the Bilsteins. I got mine off eBay and no complaints. WAAAAAY better then stock.

You know nothing about a harsh ride...While in my car, I can feel pebbles on the road ; )

Undo your T-Bar crank and it will ride smoother. Shocks will help a little bit. But in the end, it is a truck...not a Cadi.

I have the same problem. Im going on 100k and Im looking to replace my shocks. Though, Im not looking at bilstiens for they cost alot for a 17 year old, lol. Im looking to get a set of Procomp ES1000. I think they will do the job. And they are half the price of the bilstiens.

I replaced my shocks about 5k miles ago or so. I got some mid grade rancho's. They were pretty stiff at first, but once I got some miles on them they softened up some. The rear still jars me a little bit on bumps, but its not terrible.

Don't get the Ranch RSX shocks. It makes the already stiff suspension even more stiff.
