I'm curious about the whole leveling thing and I'm not really sure what the advantages or disadvantages of it are? I have a 2wd so I just want to know my options.

 

Do I have any coilover options, or is it only for 4wd? I want to maintain ride quality.

 

Do you have coils in the front?

 

I think coils in front, leaf-springs in back. I'm not near my truck to look right now though.

 

Coil spacers are a cheap option for a front lift

 

I've looked at that, but do you know how much it affects the handling? I've read that it makes for a rougher ride due to the lack of room the coils have to move.

 

I've never heard of guys having a rougher ride after coil spacers

I have and for the exact reason he listed. It will make the ride a little rougher, but I doubt you will notice a difference. Ranger isn't really known for ride quality anyway.

Haha yeah that's true, and I ride in an area where snow/ice/salt eats roads a solid 3 months out of the year so I get beat around anyway.

I'm guessing that the front sits 2 inches lower factory? So are coil spacers all I would need to get the job done? (And an alignment)

ya i mean if thats what your looking for...but im sure just like most everyone on here sooner or later your gonna want it bigger....so imo it would be a whole lot better to body lift it...but thats where i started was a coil spacer...and the spacer is easy to install

 

start with a coil spacer and do a body lift on top of it late down the road

Alright so maybe I can't search worth anything, but I can't seem to find coil spacers that come up when I do a vehicle search, and I'm not smart enough with this stuff to know what will fit and what won't without it specifically telling me. Website anyone?

I think my first move will be wheels and tires, then I'll worry about the stance. Then again, I might get into buying the cheap things first.

Ah, now I'm looking at lift kits and lowering kits. Having 200 options and my indecisiveness is not a good combination in life.

See, I'd love to do that, but I live in an area that got 79 inches of snow this past winter, so I can't go too low without dying. But I was looking at a 2/3 drop. Not so low that I couldn't get over some small snow drifts or speed bumps, but enough to make a difference.
