need help on lift ideas
alright im buying a 2007 FX4 next week. im think 2-2.5 lift would be big enough to fit 33's. im looking to go as little of a lift as possible but be able to extend very far. any ideas on what lift i should do? is there any kits? or can i make most of the stuff cuz i do do some fabrication. thanks.

Bud....I know you're newer, but we got ALOT of threads talking about tire size and lifts available and what fits what and things of that nature.
But to answer your question: You can get about 2" of lift by simply tightening your torsion bar adjustment bolts.... Search "Torsion Crank". 285/75R16's(pretty much a metric 33") fit with a torsion crank on stock or 16x8 wheels. 32x11.50 or 33x10.50 is the same case....they'll fit with a torsion crank. If you want 33x12.50, a 3" bodylift or a 4" suspension lift is suggested. Some run 33x12.50's with just a torsion crank, but they are really stuffed and I'd hate to wheel one.
STEER CLEAR of things advertised as LEVELING KITS for your truck!!!

ok. a nethor stupid question. iv been reading a lot of tbar cranks stuff since FX4wannabe01 stated u should of read first. camber, lots of people say the tbar crank will or will not affect it. i have a feeling it will anyone no of a good camberkit? or should i just start machining some for my self?

You won't need a camber kit if you just "crank" your torsion bars.
Here is a good kit though: Ingalls Engineering 29000 - Ingalls Engineering Adjustable Camber Kits - Overview - SummitRacing.com

you could do a t-bat crank, belltech 6400 shackles (they are chevy 1500 2" drop shackles but they bolt right up to our trucks for 1.5~2" of lift), and a 1" BL. this combo will give you the height you need to run 285/75/R16's which is basically 33 x 11.50's and it will give your more flex in the rear while improving on road handling. while not giving you the big body gap of a 3" body lift.
this is the set-up im currently running on my truck and i love it! perfect combo of performance and looks and its cheaper than buying a 3" bodylift!

Why are we even argueing this? It's been proven time and time again that 285/75R16's fit a torsion bar cranked truck. It doesn't even require that much crank. You probably don't even need to crank it at all to run 'em. I only cranked mine on 265/75's and 285/75's so the truck wouldn't look retarded with a nose-dive stance. Only on stock wheels/stock spec wheels would this be possible....NOT possible on 10" wheels.
