ok so i've been saving up and i just bought a 2002 4x4 ranger 4 door stepside and i want to lift it up a little bit and maybe put some 32's or 33's on it. i know i dont need to lift it to put on 32s but i still want a little bit more ground clearance. the problem is i only want a few inches (2,3,4) but i dont want to crank my tortion bars cuz its my dd and i dont want that harsh of a ride or having everything in my front end wear out real early. the only suspension lift i could find was 4 inches but it was $1500 and i just dont wanna pay that much. i didnt want to do a body lift because i have the tow package and it would look funny hanging there but it looks like that might be what i have to do. are there any other options for me to just get a few more inches besides the ones i've already mentioned??

4x4's are very spensive to lift

Just body lift it. You can have your hitch rewelded on and raise the bumper up. If its not strong enough, you just weld more structure to it.

cheapest lift kit for your truck will be the superlift for 1500.

 

thats y i like my 87 ranger a suspension lift kit will cost me from $250(canadian) 2" to $869(canadian) 4"

well if you want to lift your truck youll need to spend the money i dont really know the new suspensions but cant you just get new lifting coils for the front, an add a leaf for the back and some new shockes?

feel free to correct me becuase i have never delt with the new trucks so just a thought

check rough country lifts, they seem to be cheaper then most

 

4x2 XLT's are the only trucks now with coils up front everything else uses Torsion Bars which can be cranked to add lift up to about 2" but adds stress on parts. It's not enough stress to stop most people but stock height it best for longevity of the parts. It's the expensive lifts that change the mounting of the T-Bars to give it more lift( I think) But the added driveshaft and equipment all needs to be moved or adjusted( again I think, never really researched it cuz I'm a 2wd). There are many options for lifting the rear end. AAL, Chevy Shackles, Deavers, Chevy Leaf pack replacement, bigger blocks. But without anything to lift the front, he'll get an abnoxious rake.
