Lets play .... name that part!

**Backstory:** I was changing my oil today and I was under the truck looking at all the doo dads that could possibly break or something when I saw this.

After I saw it I was like "Hey it looks like there should be something bolted there, I bet the folks on RF know what it is." So I snapped a picture of it with the blackberry. Sorry but its a cell phone daytime looking up at the sky picture. So I ask, What is it?

haha no it isnt a nipple! to describe it, it looks like a C beam on a frame but it has 2 bolt holes on each side. I got one on both sides of the truck at the front.

It looks like 2 rays of sunshine, a lot of rust and a silver bar.

so is this the front of the truck, or back where the tranny is.

If it is the front and there are two threaded holes in the frame on both sides I would say where your sway bars bolts up, but I don't think that is where you are talking about

No its not the sway bar area, its in the front, infront of the oil pan. I really want to say its where I bolt something to make both wheels work in synchronization. Shafts? I dont know.

Maybe go out at night, or close your hood, and try to take a pic with flash so we can see it a little better. It really is hard to see, otherwise we're all just guessing.

That is quite possibly the worst picture I have ever seen......from what I can tell though, its one of the front diff brackets. They are built into the motor mount on the Edge trucks.

Even the 2wd edge trucks have the mounts for a front diff....thats why a 4x4 swap is so easy on these trucks.
