Wheel not centered in wheel well

I just received a set of 33 in tires today to put on my 2005 ford ranger xlt 3.0. And i know im going to need a lift clear the wheel wells but setting the tires in ther i noticed that the rear tire is waaaaaay too far back in the wheel well. Theres about 2.5 inches in the front of the tire and w whopping .5 inch in the rear of the tire. Ive measured the spacing between the bed and the cab and its 1.5 inches exactly on both sides so its not a crooked mounted bed. It is the same in the front wheel well to, a lot more room in the front of the tire than in the back. The truck hasnt had any accidents so i dont think anything is bent out of place. What could be causing this and how can i fix it?
