#1 Torsion Bars

they dont effect alignment.......you are replaceing a factory bar w/ a factory bar. i would suggest an an alignment just because. Whenever doing anything suspension like that....it'sa smart idea. Maybe I should take my own advice....
what the #1 bars do.....well let me back up. First you must see what bars you have currently. Look at your door tag under the SPR. Should say something like BBCC or 11kk or BBKK. First digits are the front spring rate....if it says 1, you already have #1's.
What the #1 bars provide....is a firmer ride, less sag, and helps keep the 'lift' from cranking the bars. Honestly.....#1 bar combined with a fat sidewall....rides AWESOME! I've got 20k on my #1 bars.....and no sag as of yet.
For Joe Schmo on the street, it'd run him about $60-70 per bar. You must search this forum for the proper part number....you can't just go to ford and order #1 bars....they are VIN # based....so either have #1 bar #'s or have a VIN from a truck with #1 bars.
All you'd need is about a 12" C-clamp. That's what I used.....that's pretty much what the 'special' torsion bar unloader tool is.
Search the forum kiddies....there's vins and tons of info about this on the site.....i say this because i think a thread you'd find is from me! lol.
