Need Shocks For Front Asap!!

Hey guys, well i need your help NOW.. The sl on the truck is almost done. THe gears are put in the front, and dad just needs the front shocks since 4wheelparts sent the wrong shocks with the superlift 4" lift kit. So hears my question, which shocks should i get? Which ones are the best? should i just buy the ones that were supposed to come with the kit? or should i upgrade?

Hey James.

I did alot of searching when i needed to replace my front superlift shocks....and it appears as though you can run an 'eye to eye' shock....using a jeep upper stud to eye conversion bracket, and pressing in the stock ford bracking thing lower eye so it'll mount to the lower control arm.

I was going to run Bilstein 5100's up front with the above mods to make them work.

Problem is......finding the correct shock length/travel. There are no shock that is a direct replacement for a superlifted truck, other than a superlift replacemnt shock. Wayne at underdog(stuffforyourranger.com) can get you those shocks...i asked him about it with mine. They ran like $35-40 ea.

Since you need them fast...just get stock superlift replacements....the ones that come with the kit.

Everyone else.....there is no direct replacement out there for a superlifted 98+ 4x4 ranger....due to the weird way ford chose to mount their shocks AND the length that's required for the superlift.

Well....considering I've never ran anything better...i suppose they do well.

I've got about 10k old front sl shocks in the front, 20k old bilstein 5100s in the back, no sway bar, and #1 bars on 35's. Rides better than it did stock on 245's.
