rear suspension questions

hello, first post

I have a 1996 ford ranger regular cab step side 2wd 5 speed 2.3

I just swapped a 5.0 out of a 1991 ford mustang gt, dynoed at 330 too the wheels, so I bought an 8.8 out of a 2001 ford explorer. it has 3.73s and an open diff, so I ordered a jegs mini spool, new backing plates, brakes etc

I am going to install in sprung over, which leads me to a few questions

1. are the spring perches the same width from the explorer or do I have to order/install new perches

2. I am going to C notch the frame above the axle, anybody on here have experience with it? point me in the right direction to buy a good notch kit

thank you

ok so.

1. Yes they are the same but explorer axles are spring under setup.
2. Why are you notching when you will be spring over setup?
