A few questions about shocks
I case it matters, I have a '97 STX 4x4. I noticed the other day that my front driver side shock is no longer attached to the frame of my truck. It's just sitting there sticking straight up still attached on the bottom. It looks as though the threads are still okay, so maybe the nut just worked it's way loose. (?). So here's my questions:
1) Am I in any danger driving it like this?
2) Is there an easy way to determine what size nut I need to put back on?
3) About how long do shocks last before needing replaced?
4) I have a 6" suspension lift with Rancho shocks so how do I determine what size/length I would need if I wanted to replace them?
Thanks,
Scott

I'm sure I can't "wrap my head around why it isn't safe" because I'm not a car guy and don't know these things. That's why I asked here. Thanks for the advice.
