They will act like limit straps. You'll hear clunking if you jump your truck or hit bumps hard.
They will put excessive stress on the shocks especially if they're old and at the 50-75k mark like mine, hell, mine are original on a 94.

I've jumped mine and never bottomed/topped out the shocks or anything, but I have a fx4 with blistens

If there's oil all over one shock (aka its leaking) is it shot?

That would be a big YES. Once you leak it all it'll be like running an engine without oil the piston will eventually give up and seize.

If you have a 2wd and want cheap shocks go to autozone and buy part #61573
Theyre for the 4x4 4.0l which had a stock 2" lift.

171K, mine were so badly rusted the dust cover fell apart in my hand and it took no effort to compress the shock.

I just had this happen to my FX4. Jumped it, and blew out the driver side shock. It ripped out the top bushing, and the shock was just hangin there. I need to replace, and add a limit strap now....

I think it was leaking before I jumped, Im looking to replace the back and one day probably throw the 2" brackets on the back

But the KYB says its for 0-2" raised ( what im looking for )

but under applications its says "Application Notes 2/89 and later, except FX4. "

So you cant put it on a FX4??? So you can only run Bisten and rancho shocks on a FX4 no KYB?

and the rancho says" Application Notes Not for models with High Ryder option " whats high ryder?
