superlift lift block question?

i bought this kit off another member last year

after having the explorer springs re-done the rear end was sitting about 1.5 inches higher
but now the rear end is now about 1.5 inches lower than front

does the u-bolts that come with this superlift lift block kit fit in the factory plate bolt holes

or do i have to drill out the holes to allow the u-bolts to fit

thank-you

david

With a stock setup, theSuperlift U-bolts will fit the factory plate. Don't know about your setup though. If you have an FX4 Level II with the Torsen LS, then the axle housing has a larger diameter (than a regular 4x4) and the Superlift U-bolts won't fit.

thanks for posting back

it is just the fx4 model , so it means i can use the stock plates ( good )

it means i can save some money instead of buying new 1`s and modifying them

Measure them and see !
If you have 2 or more inches of U-Bolt sticking out of the top of the Spring Plate then you might be OK BUT…
Remember as you add blocks you add stress on the u-bolts and should require larger diameter u-bolts rod size.

I found the U-Bolts that came with the SuperLift Kit to be smaller than I like to use and would have replaced them with larger IF I were going to use the Kit as is but I went with new Leaf springs that needed a different length.

Yup, they should work fine but it is just me, I like to make sure and to me and IMHO I think the manufacturers use minimum material.

I will be putting in a 31 spline 8.8 soon and I will be buying Ballistic Fab’s ⅝” U-Bolts, over yes, will they last YES !

yeah i had that problem when i put i my Level II axle. i had to drill out my 7.5 inch backing plates to fit the expo u-bolts.

Exactly where I am going shortly.
Lvl II Housing is larger OD (3.25”) and requires not only new U-Bolts but new Spring Plates.

Let me know what you order from Ballistic Fab for this. I want to order while there is a sale. I need smaller u bolts. I am using stock size right now and i have the block on top of the springs to act as a spacer.

I will be ordering their 8.8, 31 spline LvL II kit, the u-bolts are 9.75” long I think by 3.25” inside dimension with a ⅝” dia rod size; the U-Bolts are the same length separate or in the kit.
Not sure if you can order separate u-bolts but I can’t believe they are not available.

For you just measure the spring pak height, and any blocks between the springs and the axle and the tube dia, add them up, add a couple of inches and you got it the length of the u-bolts.
Measure the width of the springs also while you are there if you intend to buy new Spring Plates.
