SuperLift Shocks

anyone have any experience with SuperLift shocks?

The reason I'm asking is because I ordered a new set of pro comp shocks for 2" lift all the way around (add a leaf in the rear and bigger torsion keys in the front) and the front set are too short. I've checked on pro comp's website and checked with 4 wheel parts, who I ordered them through, and they are indeed the 2" lift shocks. I do have them on the truck right now, but it feels to me like they are maxed out on the shock shaft and it seems to have pulled the front of the truck down a little bit. It was level and now it's about 1" to 1.5" lower in the front than it was. I can definitely tell the difference in the front and rear. The rear are fine, they feel great they installed great and all. The front we had to be a bit more forceful with (nothing crazy though). I called 4 wheel parts and they told me that pro comp didn't make a 4" lift shock in the style that I needed, but SuperLift did, so they're going to have a set of those for me tomorrow. I'm planning on replacing them tomorrow afternoon and they said I could return the pro comp front's. It just seems hard for me to believe that it needs a 4" lift shock in the front with just the torsion keys.

Anybody have any thoughts/ideas? Or know if the SuperLift shocks are any good?

The shocks that came off were definitely completely shot, a few of the bushings disintegrated when I removed them and some were non existent to begin with.

just crank your stock bars and run stock length shocks. The shocks will act as a limit strap for down travel. stay away from keys. in the long run, you'll thank us.

have fun replacing ball joints and binding CV's.

BUT...to answer your question...

I have superlift front shocks...the same that comes with their 4" suspension kit and I honestly don't really like them too much. They're a little too soft.

You could find the right length shock you need in eye-to-eye mounting style. Run a jeep shock conversion up top and press in the bracket thing on the lower mount.

thanks for the info man. i actually bought the truck as it is now from a member on the forum. all he told me was that it had 2" torsion keys and a 2" add a leaf and i know it has a 3" body lift. this is my first experience with a 4 wheel drive. i was big into mustangs before this. i know what you mean about the cv's and ball joints. it doesn't really make any noises or seem to be bound up though. i'm going to try to fix the shock issue and might loosen the torsion bars a little, i just like the way it sits it's nice and level as it is. we'll see what happens i guess. i know that all of the angles as far as the front end goes changes when the torsion bars are adjusted, but it's been aligned with no problem. i've done some research since i got the truck and also have a pretty good knowledge of vehicles in general as i work for a nascar team.

Is the truck red?

I see JGR....joe gibbs racing?

I'd get de-crank those bars some on both sides. Even a maxed crank stock key truck doesn't come close to topping out the shocks. I'd de-crank and run stock length shocks.
