15" vs 16" rim

Is the difference really noticable? does anyone have a good pic portraying the difference, like 15" rim on the front and 16" rim on the back?. I want the MT Classic Locks, with the beadlock ring, i wonder if i should stick with a 16" so that the rim does not so small. got any pics of the 15" classic lock? thnkx

15" tires are cheaper than 16" and the 15's make the tires look a little bigger because you have more sidewall (1") showing

i have stock 16's and will be going to 15s. just my opinion

I would have to agree with ^^^ those guys. Its not that big of difference when it comes to look but a huge difference in price.

If you want a bigger rim go with 18's or what not

I think i can take a pic tomarrow........16" rim w/ 265/75r15 vs. 15" rim w/ 31x1050....i'll take a pic for ya tomarrow when its light outside.

I'm with everyone uptop......go for 15" due to tire selection, backspace selection espicially, most importantly the price. Theres a good difference in price on both wheels and tires. But if you want a bigger rim, just hit up a 17" or something. That's just my suggestion.

15s offer a much better selection in offset sizes, to some it may not matter. but most 16x8s i looked at were 4.5" backspace etc but it depends what youre goin for, oh and what those guys said

you probably know but 265 75 16s are more of a 32x10.5

to compare to a 31x10.5 you would need to go with a 265 70 16...i think

sorry if you already knew this.

oh....i know. I just lacked to mention the tire difference. Also my 31s are on alloy stockers and my 265 is on a alloy stocker...so it'll show better of a comparison i think compaired to the 265 16 ally vs my current 32 15 black steelie. you know what i mean?

Most the 16's i was looking at had a 5" or a 4.5" or so backspace....i think all procomp xtreme wheels are 5" backspace in a 16" size.

Here's some pics of 15 vs 16 with nearly identical diameter tires:

Pic #1: 31x10.5 15 on 15x8 wheels (3.75 backspace)

Size: 106.5 KB

Pic #2: 255-70 R16 on stock 16x7 (4.5 backspace)

Size: 109.5 KB

And here are the two side by side (the 16's on the right are closer to the camera, so they look bigger.. in reality, they are the same height):

my truck has 16's i like the look of the 08 stock rims over the 15's but they are a pain in the *** to get new tires for. Hopefully that will begin to change.

Here ya go!

Front: 15x7 stock w/ 31x10.50r15
Rear: 16x7 stock w/ 265/75r16 (approx 32x10.50)

Granted, the OD of the tires are different, and style of rims are differnt, but I think you get the picture....
