Ok, my dad said no bodylift yet. but i do want some mud tires. i have my tbars cranked, so im gonna get 31x10.50x15s on soft 8 15x8s. I am either gonna get buckshots, which i already kno about (procomp and bfg mts are too expensive, so dont mention them, id rather have them but i dont wanna save for them, id rather get tires now, i need them anyway) or the ones im unsure of, super swamper ltb's, or trxus mt's. I say ltbs cuz 4wheelpartswholesalers have a tire/wheel pak for 588 bucks. the pack is 4 SS LTB's on series 51 black rockcrawlers. So first, r the ltbs loud? how loud? how are they on the road? dry? wet? snowy? ice? load capacity? I dont wanna be slidin around in the snow too much, lol how about off road (mud, rocks, puncture resistance, etc...)

HOw about the trxus m/t's. loud? how do they rate for each condition on and off road?

What about the buckshots? same questions?

the rails i go on are either very dry with sharp rocks, or very muddy with sharp rocks.

As for the roads, im in pgh, pa, and the winters havent been too bad latley. ice sometimes, snow more often than ice.

One other thing, say i was gonna put the 31s on for the spring summer and fall, but i put the wheels and tires i have now on in the winter (they r they r hankook ATs on the stock 16s) if that was the case, what tires would you put on

Ill most likely end up with the buckshots, or the ltbs, so focus on those

lastly, the ltbs and mts are 31x11.50x15s, and the buckshots are 10.50s. would i have rubbing with any of them. i have my tbars cranked. if they do rub, then would wheel spacers fix that?

if anyone has another tire they think would be better lemme kno, but its gotta be some kinda mud tire that is VERY affordable. either at or less than buckshots or that pakage. im not concerned about road noise that much, but id like somethin that can run on the road good, in snow and etc..

I wouldnt get 31's if your going to buy tires, if your tbars are cranked i would just get 33x12.50's because you will regret it later when you get your BL....why not a body lift now? they are easy to instal and only like 200$ but i would go with buckshots if your going for price / quality....I wouldnt mind getting a set, but i drive on the pavement 90% of the time

I'd wait until you can get a bodylift. Don't spend all this money on rims and tires, then they be too small when you can get a bodylift.

LTB's are an offroad only tire, really. Bias ply and very unforgiving on the highway. Usually only used by trailered and seldom road driven vehicles. Bias so probably very loud with the big tread.

I've see the Trxus MT's before, but I've very little experience with them. LeftOfEdge and Chucks05Edge both ran them, I believe.

Buckshots are imports and I want nothing to do with them when there are good domestic tires available.

If you're going to use the truck in regular road service, the Trxus MT's are your best bet, I think.

 

I'm running 33x12.50 TrXuS MTs right now and i love them... Not loud and are Siped so they do great handling on wet roads. I like them a lot better than my old BFG A/Ts. Though I'm not gonna get as many miles out of them but i don't care. I've gone through a lot more places in 2wd with these tires that i did in 4wd with my A/Ts. I can't say anything bad about them. I have 6,000 miles on them and they still look new and still had the little nobbies on the sidewalls. I probably won't ever buy a different kind of tire. Just remember to keep the rotated and balanced.

Yeah, LTBs are bias ply... a couple reviews said that they wre really sticky and made for rocks.

I would go with BFG mud terrains... i think that's what i may get next. I've still got a little planning/researching to do.

 

i am gonna get buckshots or trxus mts, whixh is a tougher tire? most of the traikls round here r muddy as hell, and have tons of rocks stickin out of the ground, they could easily puncure a tire. which tire can take the most beating? if i can talk my ddad into it ad i get a b/l, i will get 33x12.5x15s, in that size which will be the most heavy duty? and which will last longest, and whoch can air down more without blowing the bead?, and is any1 selln a b/l? i think i can talk my dad into lettin me get one

 

Buy the American made Trxus. Neither of those choices has incredible sidewalls. If you want thick sidewalls, you need to spend a lot more for the tires than you are planning.

 

I've had the LTB's, they are pimp off-road, but on road that's a different story.

They are SO loud, they'll hum you to sleep, literally...

the Trxus MT's are great tires. the sidewalls are very thick as they are made by Interco Tire so they are made to live up to Intercos off-road tire heritage, and as an on road tire they are truely wonderful. My GF actually has them on her truck in the 285/75-16 and she has no issues with them. they are very quiet, look awesome, very aggressive, and are a million times better than the factory goodyears. they handle great in the rain and are awesome in the snow and ice. they are sipped so they will handle wet roads and snow and ice a lot better than the BFG MTs (which are very good tires, but not sipped) or the goodyear MTRs which are very loud and very stiff and ride very hard. so my suggestion would be the Trxus MTs.
