20's...ok?

hey wut up guys...well i dont really know anything about wheels and tires and such so plz help a noob out....i figured taht with my tax returns money (even though that is still a while to go)..i would buy some rims for the truck...i have a 98 2.5 ranger...and i was wondering if 20's would fit on there without any kinds of adjustments? thanks for the help guys

You ought to be alright. I think it would more depend on the width of the tire/rim. If not, some 18s or 19s would look real sharp too. You wouldn't have to worry about low-pros bouncing your teeth out either.

I would rather recommend 18's also spinning the 20's with the 4cyl wont be pretty

18s will look very good on a lowered ranger. 20s may be too big, to get a tire that will ride comfortably, and not look goofy in your wheel wells.

you may want to look into upgrading the brakes and doing a slight regear, your 4 cyl may have trouble turning bigger wheels, they are heavier than you think

that is very correct big old 20's are masive on a 4cyl...no doupt chrome one's would weigh more then my steely's and 32's

yea i was thinking about the whole 4banger thing...but i didnt think it would matter that much...but now that i really think about it... :( its gonna be so unbelievably slow huh? lol i might throw 18's on there i guess

u can actually fit 22s on a ranger and tuck if you plan on baggin later, I'd lower then get rims after that just my opinion

and whatever you do, don't get bullitts they are getting soooo overplayed it's ridiculous anymore

i wanna bag really bad but i just think it seems too complicated....and im guessing its real pricey and what kinda maintenance comes with that?

Funny.... 2.9L 87 ranger can push 37" Mud Tires at 90mph offroad and manage to jump 30 ft in the air.

2.9 is a 6cyl and its also in how you gear the truck....

bag maintenance = making sure all your hoses are good all the time, hacking a lot of the rear frame to make the notch. check out www.rangerpowersports.com for more info on baggin, theygot an entire section on it.

get a set of G35 stocker rims i think they are 19's maybe18's nobody has those. and you dont need a spacer or anything
