MT/Rs are moneyyyy

Casey, why don't you like the KM2s? They do better in mud/wet/loose terrain, the MTZs excelled when it was dry, they didn't like muddy stuff, a lot like claws.

I have cooper discover stt's and they seem to be a good tire for the twelve thousand miles I have on them. My buddy has km2s on his chevy and loves them road noise is good and they ride amazingly well for a m/t i would go with km2's.

I have yet to really hear anything bad about the KM2 except the soft sidewall if you air down and your doin some crawling.

my buddy has had **** get jammed between the bead and the rim, and also on side hills the sidewall likes to roll over quite a bit so its pretty unstable. but you're putting them on your F150 so I don't think thats much of a concern.

I'm pretty sure the KM2s will outlast the Grapplers.

I will echo that. The KM2s are great on a daily driver and fine on the F150. When I move back west (freaking hope that's soon!) I will probably run something with a harder sidewall and more wheel protection like the MT/R so I can air down and get off road with less concern. 99% of the time I wouldn't have any concern about the sidewall, only when airing down a lot around rocks/logs would I worry about them, but no more than any other aggressive a/t or something.

And again, I have over 20k miles on my KM2s and I would say they have 60-75% tread left. I have heard people say (don't know for myself) that the grapplers will be done at 20k miles depending on drivers. They are a softer compound so they will naturally wear faster. If I had a dedicated off road rig or had a real short commute and went offroad a lot I would run the mud grapplers. Otherwise I think they would be too annoying and wear out too soon for the price you are going to pay for 17-18" wheels.

Nittos tend to get cheaper with the bigger wheels, at least last time I was looking around.

The Rancho deal is a rebate as well, $400 with a lift on 5000 shocks, $500 with a lift on 9000 shocks.
I may dig around a little bit myself for the rancho kit but I'm not sure.
I am still very undecided between the Rancho and the Superlift kit. There are certain things I like about each. I've been pricing on gears/lockers the last few days and thinking about doing that rather first and worrying about lifting later.

I want to toss a locker in each of my axles and leave it where it sits. I got a 4wd, cause I need 4wd in some situations so I might as well use it to its full potential in those times.

Only problem is GM decided to do the funky retarded front diff, where you have to like take the housing apart to get to the gears.

My roomate has 35 inch Cooper Discoverer SST's on his 01 Ram. Great tire. Pretty quiet and perform great in snow, mud, gravel and on the street. They will be my next tire.

RANCHO Suspension - Current Promo
yeah, awsome deal! i just wish i had the money right now, although the deal is going on until august 31st so i may be able to save up the dough by then lol. I was wanting to get the 18" fx4 wheels instead of my 17's but DAM its almost 100 bucks more for a 18" wheel than a 17" wheel when buying tires...

Last time I was pricing stuff out, the tires I was looking at were roughly $50-75 less per tire in 17".
So that is half of my reason for wanting 17s, mostly I just like more sidewall.
If you end up lifting it though, you're probably better off getting aftermarket wheels if you run 12.5" tires.
My ideal (yet ever changing) setup would be 4.5" of lift, 17x9s with 315/70R17 Goodyear MT/Rs. Ask me next week though it and will probably be something different.

Good looking tire really but they are just so ridiculously popular I don't think I could bring myself to buy 'em. Of course I have the BFG A/Ts on my f150 so Im not sure I have any room to talk.

I love my mud grapplers but i think it takes a certain person to like them. I can travel thousands of miles with the hum and it wont bother me, but people ridding with me it is a never ending complaint!

for instance, going to lunch at work everyone rode with me, i put the mud grapplers on and now someone else drives. haha.

I drive anywhere from 300-400 miles a week, I have only had the lift a month and a half and have put 5000 miles on them.

Personally I dont really care if they wear in 10k miles or in 40k miles. So I am probably not the best influence to hear from on what tire to buy. lol

btw those videos the tires are loud, sounds like my ranger used to buy my f150 isnt that loud.

oh and Ryan is right i wont ever buy or recommend a BFG. lol

I will either get a MTZ or a MTR next time around for the 150. For the ranger I love the pitbulls so far. :)

I love my KM2s. Ride like my BFG ATs did and the noise isn't bad at all. Its noticeable but with the exhaust I love it. Now next time I'll be going with a different tire because every one has these now but would I buy them again? In a heartbeat.

They were pretty loud on my buddies dodge, you could easily hear him from a 1/4 mile away.

what I was meaning is that the km2 is not comparison to the the mud grappler in off road performance. grappler wins for sure
