New here with some ?'s on wheels and tires. Please help

Alright i've had my ranger about 3 weeks now,its an 06 2wd xlt and i'm wanting new wheels and tires.I'm wantin some 20" wheels and tires, but have now idea where to order from or what sizes i need,or the best prices. However i'm also considering bigger tires and some 17 or 18" wheels, but i don't know if that would look good since mine is a 2wd.So if anyone has pics of these setups, please show them if you could. But any help will be greatly appreciated.

Will you be modifying the height in any way? (Either lifting or lowering)

I won't be doing any lowering or putting a lift on it,it'll be stock height.Them rangers in the pics are sweet, but are they stock height with no lifts on them?I'm looking for something i can just bolt right up with no modifying at all.The bigger tires are nice, but my truck is 2wd and don't know if it would look right with big tires like that.

So you want the bling look with bigass ridiculous wheels and black rubberbands around them? (Can you tell I'm biased towards big tires? )

Yeah i like the bling look pretty good. However the rangers in the pics above are very nice and would like to have some big tires and still have some nice chrome wheels. The yellow ranger is like what i would like to have, but does that have a lift? Also would that look good and run pretty good on a 2wd?

If you like it, that's what matters. Personally I think big wheels look stupid unless they have big tires to keep it proportional. Someone else may say they love bigass wheels and tiny tires. In the end, it's your truck. You do what YOU want to do. Ignore people that think it's ugly. Of course, don't ignore safety issues.
I think the yellow truck looks good. I MUCH prefer the black truck, but again I'm biased :) The yellow truck was lifted but I dunno how. I'd guess a BL but it looks like it would need more than just that. Let the experts answer that tho. I'm just a wannabe. Welcome to the site tho!

Its hard to really answer your question without a little bit more info, like:
1. what profile tires do you want to run? are you wanting to maintain the stock height of the tires?
2. does it matter if the wheels/tires stick out of the wheel weels?
3. do you knw how WIDE of a wheel you want?

Things like that. There are a lot of veriables to consider.

Some one else can answer your tire question, as far as wheels go:

Bolt Pattern is 5x 4.5
Recommended back spacing would be between 4.25 and 3.5"
Recommended width 8-10.5"

I'd go with a 20x8 with 3.5" BS and pick out some meats from there.

What's your budget? for the whole things? and FYI Bling is heavy and will effect your MPG and Stopping power, it's always recommended to upgrade your brake system with big rims like that and I would consider regearing ( these are things most people don't take into account first time around the block)

All those trucks zabeard posted are lifted. They seem to have 4+ inches of lift, some seem to be more.

If you're going to be stock you can like...fit as large as 31s, with rubbing.

Here howabout this. Stock ranger, 20s, 31 inch tires

I wouldnt put 20's on it, thats just my opionion...If i was going to get different wheels for the "street truck" look, i would go with the 03 cobra rims, or something similiar in a 17 or 18" size.
