black rims

What are your guys opinions with black rims on a ranger? Im thinking of getting the cragar soft 8's or the rockcrawlers. Pics of these rims would be great as well.

just like Justin here said.. they weigh ALOT.. what you get for price being cheap you lose in MPG.. i went from 18 mpg with mine to 20 to 21 with my alum wheels..

they will take a HELL OF A BEATING.. but they have alot of rotating mass

Yea maybe I will consider looking at something else. I was considering them because they are so cheap, but now I know why they are so cheap lol. Got any suggestions on a cheap steel or aluminum rim?

yeah those are heavy and have been known to have issues with balancing. personally i think that black wheels like that look really cheap on trucks unless theyre the AR teflons because those are just badass

black powder coating : leave the chrome to the mall crawlers. I trust steel more than aluminum. If you bend it you might be able to bend it back to make it still work. Cast aluminum...no way.

Black steel wheels rule. Chrome wont get ya home! I personally bought my Soft 8s because of their strength. I destroyed my old aluminum rims while wheelin.

I just ordered some Rock Crawlers for my SAS because of their beef and their cheaper then everything else. I think it's going to look pretty tough with the red ranger, but we'll see. If I absolutely hate it, maybe I'll get bigger tires and aluminum wheels.

To me it depends on what your going to run your truck (street or off-road) and what kind of look you like. You can get black wheels that are aluminum if you like it (teflon wheels). Probably cost about as much as chrome, but if you like the look go for it.

Yea I kind of like the look of them, i just cant make up my mind. I think that they kind of give that "no rim" look. Do you think they look good on gray rangers?

I personally love it if they look tasteful. Just make sure you don tget those crappy looking "spare Wheel" look, and itll be good. Color of the truck is also a biggy.. black adn white trucks give mad props with having a nice black wheel on there, but otehr colors.. sorta depends on what else you have on your truck to help balance things out.

I am not a fan of those wheels, but I don't mind black wheels. My next set will most likely be mostly black.
